| This rail joiner or fishplate has been designed to fit ARA 90 lbs specified rail with 100 lbs AREA specified rail. ARA = American Railway Assoication. AREA = American Railway Engineering Association. This was necessary because the shape of the 90 lbs rail differed from that of 100 lbs rail. |
